To end 2011, Mr. Westwell and Ms. Spearing organised another successful mud run on the last day of the Autumn Term, this time with a fancy dress theme. As usual, this was a popular event, with many students braving the cold weather to test their mettle in quite gruelling conditions.
On December 16th 2011 Mayfair students ran the annual Mud Run. Always a fun and eventful experience, this year was no exception, with plenty of muck, water, sweat and smiles.
Starting at Agro Jardin, 21 students and the Mayfair Sports Department commenced their run through puddles of water, doing press-up exercises in muddy ponds, splashing each other and getting right down and dirty! There was a constant flow of laughter, fun and hard work by the Mayfair students as we ran and exercised along the beachside of Atalaya Park.
We stopped along the way and put the children through their paces with sit-ups and other challenging exercises. Everyone worked really hard and helped to encourage each other, especially when at the last leg of the run the students all swam in the sea and then, in their wet clothes, ran homeward-bound to Mayfair school! What a glorious day it was as the sun smiled down upon us.
This, the 8th annual mud run, was enjoyed by all at Mayfair and always proves to be a fantastic team- bonding exercise for all who are willing to participate!
Well done to you all!
