A New School Building

Just over 20 years ago, Mayfair International Academy opened its doors for the first time. Since then we have grown, moved, incorporated more year groups and blossomed into the unique and familial school that we have today.

It became clear to us a few years ago that we had outgrown our current premises and, despite our fondness of our converted villa, we decided the time had come to create a new, purpose-built centre for our families.

In 2016 we took the plunge and began to interview architects. We chose to move forward with the team we felt best understood our values and who we are as a school. Our architect, Gabriel Verd, and specialist consulting company, Buró 4, have extensive experience in designing schools, both abroad and in Spain.

After countless visits to our current premises and numerous conversations about every aspect of our school life, Gabriel and his team designed a site that is practical, beautiful and promotes a strong sense of community.

We are hesitant to call what has been designed a ‘school’, as it will be so much more – we prefer to think of it as a new home for learning.
